Tiny Narratives / Motion Design 1 / OSU
This was the second assignment for Motion 1 at OSU. The task was to work with other design students in Dubai and create an abstract motion piece that would go on the Burj Khalifa. The abstraction had to represent energy and its impact which is why I focused my project around grids and the energy that is associated with them. I wanted to make a moving grid that would connect and disconnect with other moving elements such as units of currency to represent the flow the economic system carries throughout our countries. The project starts with lines of plugs that connect and then rotate to become a map of the section of Dubai. The project then progresses to focus on one unit of currency that later crashes to the top of the building. This represents current inflation towards energy and the impact it has on our grids. This project has taught me a lot about working with people across the world and making abstract animations communicate in an artsy yet thought-provoking fashion.
