Title Sequence / Motion Design 1 / OSU
This was the last project for Motion 1 at OSU and by far one of my favorite projects from the class. The task was to take a book we've read and create a title sequence that highlights the events of the books we chose. I chose to make mine about Steve Jackson's Sorcery series because I am a big fan of the Medieval Fantasy genre. I started the project by creating a rough textured background that had the elements of a starry sky. I made some elements separated from the background so that they could have individual motions that would make the whole sequence look more alive. The next part was to create the sequences that would highlight the inctiving parts of the book (action, magic, and dialogue) I took four pictures for each sequence and photoshopped them so that the figure would be wearing the clothes of the main character along with swords and magic. The reason behind the focus on stars and constellations is that the main character in the book uses constellations to summon his magic. The music comes from the game's soundtrack and I think it fits the video by having a progressively faster pace that gets the viewer more excited as the video plays. What I learned from this project is how to properly work with sound, images, type, and effects to make a motion project worth sharing.
